Structure and bodies of Uniadrion

UniAdrion has been established through the realization of a telematic Network (consisting in the construction of different university Focal Points) and the promotion of training courses and research activities in the field of cultural heritage preservation, environment protection and sustainable development, cultural tourism, communications and promotions of trade relations (Working Groups). Besides triggering off an extremely innovative and high-level intellectual and scientific synergy, the UniAdrion Network endeavours to promote regional dialogue and co-operation for well-balanced development, stability and integration, also in view of the enlargement of the European Union. In order to accomplish such complex tasks the inner organisation of UniAdrion is/has been structured in the following bodies:

»General Assembly

The General Assembly is the forum for the consideration and the definition of policies - included cultural policy - and of programmes of the UniAdrion Network. The General Assembly is composed of the Chancellors (or their delegates) of the University members of the UniAdrion Network.
The majority of the voting members (half plus one of the Members of the Assembly) present at the meeting is required to take the following decisions:

  1. approval of the budget and of the final balance;
  2. election of the President of UniAdrion;
  3. election of the members of the Board of Advisors;

A majority of 2/3 of the voting members present at the meeting is required to take the following decisions

  1. changes in the Charter of UniAdrion;
  2. examination of the applications and their acceptance/refusal.
  3. The Assembly meets at least once a year.

»President

The current President is the Rector of the Politechnic University of Marche Region, prof. Marco Pacetti. He succeeded to the Rector of the University of Bologna, prof. Pier Ugo Calzolari.
The UniAdrion President shall hold office for a period of two years. The President legally represents UniAdrion. The President takes care of the good implementation of the decisions and of the activities promoted by UniAdrion and has the responsibility to perform all the actions needed for the perfect running of the Network and ensures all the necessary links with the Executive Secretariat.

»Board of Advisors

The Board of Advisors is composed of the President of UniAdrion and of seven Members who are not necessarily part of the General Assembly. The Board of Advisors is the executive body of the Network. The Board of Advisors following the political and general policy guidelines of the Assembly

  1. ensures the permanent operativeness of the Forum on the UniAdrion web site;
  2. provides formal validation and approval of the projects - founded by UniAdrion or for projects for which the founding organisation requests the approval - after having consulted the competent Scientific Commissions, and takes all the decisions necessary to their implementation;
  3. co-ordinates the general guidelines which have to be followed by the Scientific Commissions in the definition of their work.
  4. mantains contacts with the European and the international bodies in charge of the policies and financial tools for the development of the co-operation.

Moreover, the Board of Advisors gives special attention to its relationships with the governments of the members Countries of UniAdrion and with the EU, in order to enhance the policies and the national tools which can help the development of UniAdrion and in order to find financial channels which can co-finance the realisation of the project for the Network. Current members are:

  • Prof. Pier Ugo Calzolari - Rector of the University of Bologna
  • Prof. Ioannis Gerothanassis - Rector of the University of Ioannina and Vice-President of UniAdrion
  • Prof. Branko Kovacevic - Rector of the University of Belgrade
  • Prof. Željko Knez - Rector of the University of Maribor
  • Prof. Marco Pacetti - Rector of the University of Ancona
  • Prof. Daniel Rukavina - Rector of the University of Rijeka
  • Prof. Theodhor Karaja - Rector's Delegate, University of Tirana
  • Prof. Faruk Čaklovica - Rector of the University of Sarajevo

»Executive Secretariat

The Executive Secretariat is the technical body which is responsible for the running of the organisation and of the network of UniAdrion. In particular, it has the duty to check the progress of the implementation of the individual projects and undertakes this task in co-operation with their coordinators.
The E.S. informs the Board of Advisors of the situation assessed. The E.S. is located in Ravenna. It is coordinated by the University of Bologna and operates through its facilities.
