The Working Groups refer to the main fields of interest the Project is dealing with.
The preservation of the culturale heritage as a common root of the Adriatic-Ionian Coutries is one of the main priorities of the UniAdrion network. Working Group 1 works on restoration, protection and cataloguing of cultural heritage within the UniAdrion countries. This WG will operate on the settlement of educational sites for architectural and archaeological restoration, settlement of standards related to the scientific survey of the monuments and sites and the numerical large-scale cartography georeferenced to all information on the territory as well as on the creation of new methodologies of the classification and cataloguing of cultural heritage.

The UniAdrion Network dedicates a specific attention to the protection of both the economic and the environmental resources of the Adriatic-Ionian area. The WG 2 stresses that a correct exploitation of resources must fully comply with the natural environment, according to the model of "sustainable development".

The cultural tourism that for its nature is typically itinerant must be associated to the environment and the landscapes. This integration related with historic-cultural aspects, must grant a privilege to the local realities, making sure the preservation and the conservation of the local traditions, the valorisation of the typical agricultural and handicraft products, the discovery of natural environment, the preservation of the national parks and of the archaelogical sites. The symbiotic relation between culture and integrated and sustainable environment represents the pillar of the "Global Tourism". This Working Group aims to define a first series of cultural tourist itineraries will be related to rigorous criteria of representation of different cultures.

The UniAdrion Network highlights the importance of maritime and land transport for an integrated and sustainable development of the Adriatic–Ionian region, fundamental step to achieve stability and security in the region itself. With respect to infrastructures and transport networks this WG can contribute by fostering research and development projects in transport and logistics, with the purpose to aim at the most proper collocation of the region development plans within the context of a global sustainable development.

The Ancona Declaration, on the basis of the indications of the Round Table on cooperation at university level, emphasises the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) as one of the reference tools in the economic and cultural growth of the
Countries in the Adriatic and Ionian areas. This Working Group must establish the structure of the network and the associated management procedures that will assure, from the beginning, a fair representation to all participants. The WG should consider also the necessity of graduating the planned activities in order to take into account the actual availability of human and economic resources. The initial goal will however concerns the realisation of a certain number of nodes (focal points) of the Network, at least one for every country, endowed with all hardware and software tools that will assure the operation of a basic technical structure suitable for subsequent
