Tour-Adrion: a Networked Multipurpose Tourist Region

Programme

The project TUR-ADRION contributes to the proposals by Working Group 3 on CULTURAL TOURISM of UniAdrion, according to the results of the Meeting held in Ravenna in 2000 (on “Cultural Tourism and Development”, dated 16-12-2000).
The project will thus contribute to the training course for experts on Cultural Tourism, providing the Framework of the current knowledge and structure of the “Adriatic and Ionian Tourist Region”:

  • mobility infrastructures,
  • tourist typologies
  • sector policies and laws
  • institutional subjects
  • territorial plans and urban designs
  • instruments and services
  • marketing and information

In the second semester – will follow a complete definition of such Regional Framework and the understanding of trends (Tourist Scenario):

  • analysis of the initiatives
  • institutional and functional integration, co-operation and competition
  • re-qualification projects and resources protection
  • environmental sustainability

Both the Framework and the Scenario will be based on the notions, typologies and modalities that emerged from Ravenna 2000:

  • tourism meant as hospitality, exploration and meeting of territorial identities
  • infrastructures as relation fields
  • equipment as services and exchanges
  • urban projects as added value

The list of participants in the Ravenna meeting will be the first reference for an exchange of information within Working Group 3; adhesions from other researchers and operators of the involved nationalities will be solicited.
The working modalities come before on-line information exchange, direct meetings in the various territories, case studies, participation in training courses, and the drafting of a final report representing first the Framework (1° semester) and then the Scenario (2°semester).
