Adriatic-Ionian Initiative was born with the signature of the “Declaration of Ancona” on May 20, 2000 at the end of the “Conference on development and security in the Adriatic and Ionian Seas” by the Foreign Ministers of the six founding countries.

Regular Members of UniAdrion are all the Universities that have signed the Ravenna Declaration within the 31st January 2001. After that date, only the Universities that forward their request to the UniAdrion General Assembly, in charge of examining and approving the applications, can become members of UniAdrion.
